I started to live simply about 5 years ago after a summer tour through the Alps. While I was there I literally lived in a log cabin with a floor plan closely resembling the 'studio' apartment (i.e. everything is in one room). During my month of residence I found that I cherished the coziness and could finally work with a unique sense of peace in this 'little world' and made a decision to replicate my experience.
My favorite thing about my tiny house is that it makes me feel like I live in a fairy tale. The wooden interior gives me a cozy chalet feeling and I feel like an elf living in a tree. I love that my roof is slanted. The large glass window overlooks the forest to bring the outside into my 'hobbit' home and even in the winter I have plenty of light and visual inspiration.
I could never live anywhere else.
